Thomas Meier

After his university course (Master in Business Administration, University of Münster) Thomas Meier founded la Movida, a language travel agency specialized in Spanish language courses, in 1991.

In 1995 Thomas founded Carpe Diem, a language travel agency that later took over Actilingua language travel, Vienna, integrating it into Carpe Diem.
Founder of TravelWorks’s travel programmes worldwide volunteer programmes in 2004, he took over CIEE Germany and later integrated it into TravelWorks.

Foundation of e-traffix E-Commerce Service Provider for carpe diem and TravelWorks (2005).

In October 2006 Thomas sold his companies to UK based Holidaybreak plc., a holding of specialist tour operators with a collective turnover of more than 300 million GBP. Thomas remains as Managing Director of his team, which consists of over 40 employees.
