Marten Schuurman

Hello! My name is Marten Schuurman, I'm 25 years old. I did my final assessment at Internet Advantage, I've written a strategic growth plan for the dutch office. After my studies Internet Advantage offered me a job, so since then I work here.

Since my childhood I wanted to be an ice cream man, so I have started my business in 2009 called "Socialijs'. Because I am convinced that every company should offer a unique experience to its customers I wanted do do something extra. Socialijs is the first ice-cream vendor that uses social media in the Netherlands. Through various social media, customers can contact Socialijs when they felt like having an ice cream. I communicated with them via social media and then visited them with my authentic vending car.

This concept was a great success in Utrecht, it got a lot of local and national media attention. The past two years I have lived my dream, but now it's time for new challenges. In my heart I'm more an (online) marketeer than an ice cream man. Socialijs still exists, a franchisee has taken over my activities.

I work five days a week at Internet Advantage where I am responsible for the social media projects. I also do support work for clients to which we deliver SEO services.
